Can an xbox 360 controller be used with a PC without buying the wireless usb adaptor?
I have several Xbox 360 controllers, and I want to use them to play on my PC. I have the USB cable (USB to Controller Charger) and Ive installed the drivers from Microsoft, but It still doesnt work. If someone could help me out I would Appreciate it.

It’s not possible. You have to use the wireless gaming receiver in order to use your wireless controller on your PC. The charger only transfer power; it cannot transfer data and therefore can’t be used as a way to connect the controller to your computer to play games.
